The Real Shortest History of Urdu Literature: An Introduction and Analysis

Abstract

History of Urdu literature is one of the important trends in the research. American Language Authority (M.L.A) described in 1952 four important areas and the History of Literature is one of them. In Urdu literature there are so many writers made their contribution in this field. More than 40 books written in this area which shows significance of this field. Most surprisingly an important book of history written about the start of the Urdu language named “Urdu Zubaan ki Tarikh” by jomal waiz Lal ignored by the critics. This book was written in 1920 and one of the ancient work in this field. The writer made a vital contribution and a serious effort about the start of Urdu language in the Sub-Continent. The writer having research aptitude and writing style cannot be ignored anyway. This article is an effort to know about the history of the Urdu language, it's creation and the current situation of the Urdu language. This article will help the student of Urdu literature to know about the Jomal waiz Lal and his contribution in the field of history of Urdu literature.
