In the early twentieth century, the wave of national awakening brought about social reform as well as a change in the social status of women. During this period, several magazines were launched for women. These magazines were specifically for women. Among them, Tehzeeb Niswan (Lahore), Khatoon (Aligarh), Ismat (Delhi) are of particular importance. A woman writer in these magazines was Amna Nazli, who wrote short stories and plays. That Amna Nazli has played a significant role in advancing the tradition of female fiction writers in Urdu. She is at the forefront of female Urdu dramatists because before the partition of India, there were no female dramatists in Urdu. The themes and plots of her fiction reflect our daily lives. But she has been hidden from the eyes of researchers and critics and her literary services have not yet come to the public eye. This article presents a brief overview of her literary services.
